    Expert Answer
Cinnamon irritates your mucus membrane and increases blood circulation, which makes your lips look fuller. Because of this, it would be a great ingredient in a natural lip scrub.
  • Question
How long do the effects of Method 1 last?
    Community Answer
If you mean plumping, it lasts a few hours. It's not permanent.
  • Question
What if I use this method daily?
    Community Answer
You may have an adverse reaction.
  • Question
Can I make more to apply as the day goes on?
    Community Answer
Yes. You will need to reapply so your lips don't dry out.
  • Question
Can I leave it on overnight?
    Community Answer
Don't leave the ground cinnamon mixture (from method 1) on your lips longer than a few minutes. The plumping effect happens within this time frame. Leaving the mixture on longer than a few minutes or overnight does not increase the plumping effect and increases the likelihood of swallowing and over-irritation. The mixture in method 2 *can* be left on - apply it just like you would apply a lip gloss and re-apply as needed!
  • Question
Is the plumping effect permanent or temporary?
    Community Answer
    It's temporary.
  • Question
Can you use coconut oil or something else besides Vaseline?
    Community Answer
Yes, any type of lubricant is fine. That includes oils.
  • Question
    Would clove oil work?
    Cecilia Flores
    Top Answerer
Clove oil can work as well, but it won't be as effective as cinnamon or peppermint oil.
  • Question
What if I tried the cinnamon but nothing happened and my lips stayed the same?
    Cecilia Flores
    Top Answerer
That's the thing with these beauty methods, it all goes back to body chemistry. It may work for some people and not for others.
  • Question
I don't feel any burning, yet my skin is very sensitive. Does that mean it's not working?
    Community Answer
    It's normal.
  • Question
Does method one have any side effects?
    Community Answer
Your lips might tingle, or you might sneeze often. Other than that, there shouldn't be any other side effects.
  • Question
How long is the effect of ground cinnamon?
    Community Answer
Ground cinnamon can plump your lips for a few minutes - just enough time to take a few selfies.
  • Question
Can I use tea tree oil instead of cinnamon?
    Community Answer
Cinnamon really helps the process of making your lips appear bigger. Tea tree oil should not be put on your lips in case it is licked and swallowed; it is toxic (poisonous) if ingested. As such, it should never be used around or in the mouth at all.
  • Question
    How long does it stay?
    Rahnuma
    Community Answer
It usually stays for a few hours, but if used once or twice a week for more than 3 months, permanent results may be seen. But this should never be used more than twice per week.
  • Question

    ReginaVSCO
    Community Answer
If you use this method, your lips will probably stay plump for 45 minutes to a couple of hours, it differs for each person.
  • Question
Why cinnamon leaf oil and not cinnamon bark oil? Is there something wrong with cinnamon bark oil?
    Anindita Das
    Community Answer
The leaf is more beneficial than the bark. However, if it helps you in your skincare, then there is no need of bark and leaf.
