  • Question
If I don't have strapless bras, can I wear a normal one without the straps over my shoulders?
    Jwlhyfer Karnstien de Winter
    Community Answer
It depends on the stiffness of the bra. If the bra is too loose, it might slip down. However, if your bra fits well and is tight enough to stay up without straps, then you can go for it. You can also use double sided tape or safety pins (attached to your clothes) to help it stay in place.

  • Question
What size sheet is a toga?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
If you want to make a decent toga, some sheets are better to use than others. Your best option is to use a twin sheet, but you can get away with a full sheet if that's all you have. Fold the sheet lengthwise until it's the length you want it to be. For a shorter toga, you can fold it in half. For a longer one, fold down just the top portion. If you don't have a sheet, you can cut a 35 by 75 inches (89 by 191 cm) rectangle out of fabric, then hem the edges. From there, you can tie on the toga and wear it!
  • Question
Do you wear anything under a toga?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
It's really up to you! If you want some coverage that won't be visible outside of the toga, go with a white slip or a white tank top and shorts underneath. You could also just go with underwear for a little bit of coverage that's more comfortable. Back in ancient Rome, where the toga was really popular, men and women wore a form of underwear called a "subligaculum" which was sort of like a basic loincloth underneath their toga. But if you're not trying to recreate an ancient Roman look, choose what's most comfortable (and appropriate) for you and the occasion.

  • Question
Would a sky blue toga be a good color for an ancient Greece and Rome speech?

A sky blue fabric should be bright enough to make you stand out, and would work well. While it might not be perfectly historically accurate, you should look great for your speech.
  • Question
Which is better to do: safety pins or a knot?
    Aubrey Baird
    Community Answer
While safety pins will be more secure than knots, knotting your toga will have more aesthetic appeal. You can knot it securely and add safety pins so it stays together better.
  • Question

    Aubrey Baird
    Community Answer
If you want to embrace the stains, then feel free to use the sheet directly following the tutorial. Flipping the sheet and tying it to hide the stains can be helpful, or it might be helpful to just find or use a different sheet.
