You're supposed to slam the cover shut when someone not in the circle walks past. It's supposed to be sort of secret like a journal but shared among only some people.

Focus on people's likes and dislikes, their favorites and things they don't favor. Try to be creative. Come up with questions related to your school (such as, who is your favorite teacher?) Ask things about their lives, like, "Where did you go on the last trip you took?" Ask about their families, as in, "How many brothers and sisters do you have?" Remember a slam book is supposed to help you learn more about your friends, so consider what you want to know about them. You could ask questions that contrast, such as: Twizzlers or Red Vines? Coke or Pepsi? Cats or dogs?

You can tape or glue pictures from your favorite moments into the book, and you can write a little paragraph or poem about each moment. You can also decorate it with colored tape, stickers, and drawings.

You could ask almost anything, but try not to make the question too personal. Something too personal could be "Have you pooped your pants before?" and something ok to ask could be "What's your favorite band?". But try not to ask questions you already know or else the game will get boring.
