    Instead of using a fertilizer, try using an organic compost. Compost is the best thing to amend your soil with for growing wheat.

    Wheat is not recommended for container gardening. There is no size pot that would yield enough wheat to be practical to grow in a container, and growing a dozen or more pots of wheat seems impractical. There are other grass like plants you can grow that will do well in pots.
