You collect trophies by a method of attacking and playing called "trophy pushing". When you begin trophy pushing, you build a base defending trophies more than loot called a "trophy base". The town hall should always be in the center of the trophy base. Dark elixir is protected the most and elixir is protected more than gold because it is needed to train a good army. When trophy pushing, you need a good attack strategy for your level. You are not worrying about elixir or dark elixir cost when you train these armies. Good armies for TH8, TH9, and TH10 include Golems+wizards+PEKKAS (GoWiPe), Golems+Witches+Wizards (GoWiWi), Balloonion (Balloons and Minions), or others.
