QuestionWhat happens when I can't play the board? Do I take a card from another player?Community AnswerYou take one card from the person to the left, but that player gets to choose which card.
-
QuestionWhy can't I fake a pass if I have playable cards?Community AnswerYou can fake a pass, but it will hold up the game play. No one else will be able to play their cards if you're holding onto your own. For example, if you have the six of hearts, no one will be able to play a five of hearts or anything lower until you play. Depending on who you are playing with, they may make it a rule that you cannot fake a pass.
-
QuestionHave you ever played with a joker as a wild card?Community AnswerYes. When used it creates a “dead” card that counts against you if you end up with it. The dead card gets passed often.
-
QuestionCan I play with 2 decks if you have 8 people?Community AnswerYes.
-
Questionpoint value of remaining cards in losers handsCommunity AnswerThe easiest way to keep track of points is to count each card as one point. Since some people may only have one or two cards left and someone else may have almost a full hand, keep it simple. One card is equal to one point once the round has finished.
-
QuestionAre these instructions simple enough for middle school children to understand?Community AnswerYes, very clear and simple instructions and good diagrams. I'm planning to teach my seven-year-old nephew.
-
QuestionWhat happens when I run out of cards?Community AnswerYou win when you run out of cards. That’s the object. Other players count their cards and the round is over.
-
QuestionIs the ace played high or lowCommunity AnswerIt depends on who you're playing with. The rules for the ace are not set in stone. Some people play it as being lower than a two and some people use it as the highest card value. It's up to how you want to use it.
-
QuestionDo any cards have a higher penalty score when playing Sevens?Community AnswerThe way we play, the 1-9 cards are worth 5 points, 10-Ace is 10 points, and we play with a Joker so the dead card is worth 50 points.

QuestionWhen I play the person with the 7 of spades is first. Then it goes the left of that person. If I don't have another 7 or 6 or 8 of spades the person to there left gives a card of their choice. Is that right?Community AnswerThat’s exactly the way we play! We also add this to the mix. No 7s pile can super exceed what’s been played on the 7 of Spades pile. For instance, if the 7 of Spades has a 5 of Spades as it’ lowest card, you can not play any card lower than a 5 on any of the other 7s piles, until it’ been played on the Spades pile. Great twist to the game!

QuestionWhat happens when you pass, then see that card is hidden behind another one in your hand and you have paid your chip? Do you place that card down and take back your chip? Or wait you next turn?Community AnswerIf you chip when you could play, most of the time it's a chip penalty. Even if it was accidental, it still counts.
-
QuestionShould I hold my cards up so others can see how many I have left, or can I hold them closed so they are not visible?Community AnswerYou should not show your cards to anyone, if they see your cards, they won't play the card that you need to put down, meaning that you would have to pass frequently.
-
QuestionCan I win the game by putting one of the sevens last?Community AnswerYes. But only if you don't have any other card of that type. For example I have seven of hearts and I don't have any other card of hearts than I may save it for the last. But if I have seven of hearts and a few other cards of the same than I have to put down the seven of hearts to get rid of other cards.
-
QuestionWhat are the rules for playing Sevens with two decks?Community AnswerWhen we have more than 4 players, we often add another full suit for each extra player. This works well for us. Otherwise we play the game as usual.
-
QuestionCan I use a joker for a seven?Community AnswerNo. The joker can be used to replace any card, except for a 7. That card then becomes dead and cannot be played, thus it is passed often.
-
QuestionWhen playing Sevens, can I play another 7 when I have other cards to play?Community AnswerYes. You can play any card that is playable on the table. It is not necessary to play on other lines before playing a 7. Likewise, you may play on existing lines and hold the 7, locking up the suit. This is especially beneficial if you only have, for example, a 7 and 6 in the suit.
-
QuestionHow does the game end?Community AnswerSomeone runs out of cards. That person wins. If you're playing multiple hands, any cards remaining in others' hands are totalled up and those are points against them. Total up each round and add to your previous score until someone reaches 100; the person with the least points wins.
-
QuestionDo all of the cards count for the same points?Community AnswerAce is one point, all the numbers count points accordingly (2 is 2 points, 3 is 3 points, etc.), and face cards are 10 points.
-
QuestionIf I use diamonds as the "featured" suit and all four sevens are down, can I play another suit if the same card hasn't been played yet on the featured suit?Community AnswerThe featured suit has to have say the ten before you can play a ten on any other suit, or a say five on the featured suit before you can play a five on another suit. To add spice, if you cannot play, the player to your right gives you a card from their hand. If it will play, you still play it before the next person plays.
