You can strip your extensions if they are made from 100% human hair. However, extensions are treated with chemicals that make them more difficult to lighten so you may get a subtler result than you would on your own hair.

Usually when you dye your hair blonde, you're removing the pigment from your hair. In that case, you can't really remove that lightness from your hair. However, if you don't like the tone, like it's too orange or purple, you can use a stringent like a clarifying shampoo, or you might use something more aggressive like a color remover.

Most likely any color will show up well to cover up the blonde. If it is a light or platinum blonde, choose any color you would like your hair to be. If it's a dirty or darker blonde, then choose a darker color that will cover the blonde.

If the blonde hair is the problem, and you are wanting to get rid of it, then re-dye your hair as close as you can get to your natural hair color. If you want to just change your root color to match, then either go into a salon and get it touched up, or get a touch up kit to use yourself.

    Community Answer
Go buy a blue shampoo. Blue cancels out orange. You can also use baking soda and dandruff shampoo (or regular shampoo). Use equal parts and let that sit in your hair for 10-15 minutes and that should help. You may need to repeat for a few days.
