  • Question
I got a pre-owned laptop with markings where the stickers were, and it looks really bad. How do I get the sticker marks off?

Try rubbing it off with rubbing alcohol. Just make sure not to spill any on your keyboard.
  • Question
How do I remove stickers from my computer case?
    Community Answer
Rub some olive oil on the stickers and let sit overnight; this will loosen the glue. You can also try a blow-dryer to heat the glue for quicker results if the stickers are safe from sensitive computer components, or purchase a product such as Goo Gone for removal of the more stubborn stickers.
  • Question
My laptop had a DIY sticker (made with sticky tape) on it, near the keyboard. I've tried scraping and the leftover tape won't come off. What should I do?
    Community Answer
Coconut oil will help get the goo off. Goo Gone will work, too.
  • Question
My laptop has had a sticker on it for 3-4 years. What can I do?
    Community Answer
Just take it off slowly, the glue is most likely going to leave some residue, so use Goo Gone or something similar to remove whatever is left behind.
  • Question
Is it better to put stickers on a laptop case or the actual laptop?
    Community Answer
If by "actual laptop" you mean screen and keyboard, NO. Never put stickers on the screen, keyboard or touch pad or whatever. The technical "case" of the laptop is the plastic or metal shell that the laptop's guts are held in, but with your use of "case", I would assume you mean a carrying case that you bought separately from the PC. I would actually advise against putting stickers on your PC at all. They vastly decrease the value of it if you ever try to sell it.
  • Question
There's a shadow of the sticker left after removing it, how do I clean it?
    Abdul Aziz AlSiyabi
    Community Answer
You can use alcohol or WD-40. Wait for 2 minutes and then you can wipe it away very easily.
  • Question
Should I leave the stickers that specify what model drivers, etc. the laptop has?
    Community Answer
I would recommend leaving them on in case you need to have the laptop repaired or something, it would be good to have this information handy.
  • Question
I rubbed a piece of tape up and down and then, finally, I got all of the residue off. But, how do I do it faster next time (without having to go to the store)?
    Community Answer
Wipe it with water and then use the tape.
  • Question
How can I remove a sticker and keep the sticky part on the sticker, so I can re-stick it in another place?
    Community Answer
That will be impossible, but if you want to stick it somewhere permanently, you could use glue.

Put egg whites onto it, then wipe it off when dry. It works very well.
  • Question
How do I get a sticker residue off the top of my PC without damaging the PC?
    Rudy Toth
    Community Answer
Get yourself a old rag T-shirt (clean kind of a thing) and purchase a small can of WD-40. Spray a light/short burst amount into the T-shirt and dampen the sticker residue with the WD-40 to be moist... then wait an hour. Take the flipside of the shirt, and clean off the residue sticker.
  • Question
What should I do if the sticker residue is removed, but the residue leaves discoloration on the computer surface?
    Rudy Toth
    Community Answer
Try the same with a product well known as WD-40 that will not leave no discoloration on your computer surface.
  • Question
How do you take it off when none of the items listed work?
    Rudy Toth
    Community Answer
This adhesive has an enemy that it doesn't know nothing about. It's called: WD-40. Get a old clean rag and spray a short - burst into that rag then what you do is simple... dab the glue on your laptop to make that spot of glue to become "moist". Wait an hour, flip over your rag and slowly remove the sticky glue.
  • Question
How can I remove Fevicol from my laptop easily with home ingredients?
    Anjali Chaurasia
    Community Answer
Your question doesn't specify much. You may be confusing sticker adhesives with PVA. If you do actually mean Fevicol, it assumes a rubber-like consistency once dried like acrylic paints and latex, so it can be peeled off easily from a smooth surface. If you are unable to get it off, try a wet or damp cloth to remove it. Fevicol is water soluble. If it's on your keyboard, use a thin tool to get in the nooks and crannies. If the glue has gotten inside your keyboard, there simply isn't anything you can do aside from taking it to a repair shop.
