My favorite is using Polaroids. Depending on your guest count, have between two and four Polaroid cameras. Have a lot of film because people do crazy things. Then right next to the cameras, have a backdrop. It's not a proper photo booth, but what we call a pipe and drape. It's a sequence backdrop where people can take selfies. Then next to that have the scrapbook. Customize the scrapbook with your name on the front or a picture. Then leave the entire scrapbook empty. Leave a ton of pens, markers, stickers and other fun stuff.

Do I have to use a scrapbook album?

No. You can use a binder with clear page protectors and card stock inside instead. If you do not have any of the materials, you can take a book that's the right size (and that you don't want anymore) and place clear packaging tape on the pages. If you know exactly what you want on a page, place the items underneath the packaging tape. If not, cover the page with packaging tape first and then put the items on top (with new tape over them) later on.

Yes, a scrapbook can be any type of book you like, even though it generally looks better if the background paper is just blank space. For tape, if you want to use tape on top of the photos I would suggest good-quality washi tape; that generally doesn't damage the gloss from the photos.

No, they shouldn't as photos have a protective coating. But if you are worried about this happening, then use Mod Podge to put another protective coating over the scrapbook page or photo. But make sure you get the specific type for your specific crafting needs because if you get the metal gloss one to put on photos, it will damage the photo.
