    Expert Answer
In designing a book, the process often involves collaboration, and while there are instances where the publisher makes final decisions, some are fortunate to actively engage and collaborate creatively with their publisher. You present your concepts, and together, you and your publisher will bring them to life. While writers typically focus on the text, self-publishing offers full creative freedom, albeit with potential resource constraints. Whether working collaboratively or independently, the design process demands active participation and thoughtful decision-making to ensure the visual representation complements the essence of the written work.
  • Question
Should I send the whole book a publisher?
    Community Answer
Most publishers will ask for the first three chapters. If they are impressed, they will ask for the rest of the manuscript.
  • Question
Can a publisher publish my book if I am only 10 years old?
    Community Answer
If your book is good enough to be published, then yes, although they will need to work closely with your parent(s) or guardian throughout the process.
  • Question
Do I send a loose copy to a publisher or a copy with a cover and all?
    Community Answer
Sometimes these specifications will be included in their instructions. However, you'd normally send a manuscript. Manuscripts do not include covers or artwork, but are just the text of your work.
  • Question
What if I have the idea for a book, but don't actually want to write it myself?
    Community Answer
Develop a team of people who have the motivation and skill to write the things you come up with. Co-Author the book with them.
  • Question
I became acquainted with several local escorts ~15 years ago. I helped them with promotion, and I had access to their email accounts. Some incredibly interesting email content, personal and business. Can I use this?

If you don't have informed consent, you cannot use this information. In fact, if you don't have explicit permission, you cannot even access these accounts.
  • Question
Can I write a book about something if I don't have a degree in that subject?
    Community Answer
If you supplement your own research on the subject and work closely with professors, researchers, experts, and already known writers, you can stand on their shoulders for credibility if they endorse your writing. Start cold-pitching people, doing immense amounts of reading and citing your references, you can get some credibility because you did research-level work. Make friendships with people in the field. You may be surprised how many people get curious and want to help you if you just ask for five minutes of their time or ask them to coffee. If you know your subject-matter inside-out, and your idea is interesting to them, they may decide to help you. Don't stop asking and never stop reading.
  • Question
Can I write a book about something if I don't have a degree in that particular subject?
    Kate Hayes
    Community Answer
Yes. You just have to sell your book, and yourself/“qualifications”/why you had the knowledge to write this book. If you can sell the publisher on you, then you shouldn’t have any issues about official qualifications.
  • Question
Do I have to send the whole book to the publish center or just the intro?
    Community Answer
You don’t need to send the whole book only the first few chapters and a short summary of what you want the book/series of books to be about. If the publisher likes it, they will most likely contact you saying so and if they don’t they will most likely tell you so.
