    Expert Answer
The word Christian has become an incredibly broad term. Today, we have Christian t-shirts, Christian restaurants, Christian radio stations playing Christian music by Christian artists. Originally, only disciples were allowed to be called Christians. A disciple is a follower/student of Jesus Christ. One must be a follower of Jesus Christ to lead a good Christian life. Know what Jesus did and said. Obey Him. That’s all.

Find a church where you can serve well. Your own personal preferences and opinions may hinder you from finding a fellowship where you can minister in an effective way. Ask what you have to offer and find a church that needs you. You will be much more fulfilled by serving than you will by sitting in a chair with a bunch of others sitting in chairs listening to a worship band.
  • Question
One of the steps said to pray with family, but what if I don't have a family to pray with?
    Community Answer
God doesn't look at your life and judge you for the things you don't have. God will look at your heart, so regardless of whether you can pray with your family or not, your faith and service to God are completely up to you. In the meantime, look for other people, whether they are friends or people in need, and pray with them. Appreciate these opportunities to bless someone.

You don't have to go to church to serve God, as long as you spend devotional time getting to know him. Set aside time to pray and do a Bible lesson or read the Bible at least once a week. You can serve God by believing in Him and spreading his word. The gospel is not a secret!

  • Question
Due to an issue that happened before my wedding, up to now my spiritual life is yet to balance. What should l do?
    Zara Bluehoof
    Community Answer
Read the Bible daily, pray and take time for yourself to meditate or reflect on life. It is good for you to reflect on what you have done during the day. Try cleaning or organizing your room and know that God is with you all the time. He also helps those who help themselves, so you could also consider counseling or a retreat to get some qualified help with refinding your balance.
  • Question
Prophesies have come several times that I don't want to serve God. It bothers me because I have been doing my best making out time to serve God. But I don't know the way God wants me to serve him.
    Zara Bluehoof
    Community Answer
Read the Bible and go to a natural place you love. It may be a forest or a river. Go there and look at all the beauty that is there. Look at all the living things and how gorgeous it is. And you will realize, God created this all. He did create it all! And you actually do want to serve God! If you are making out all this time for God, then ignore the part that says you don't! You would be doing nothing if you did not want to serve him.
  • Question
I love God, I know in my heart that I do, but I keep falling back to a particular sin and my study life isn't that great even though I want it to be. I need help.
    Zara Bluehoof
    Community Answer
Take regular breaks when studying and go somewhere relaxing for you, like your garden, a quiet space or your bedroom. As for sinning, take time to read the Bible and pray for God's forgiveness. Pray that you won't be tempted to sin again.
  • Question
Do you have to speak out loud when you pray? Is it wrong to pray silently in your mind to him?

A person can pray in any way they wish. Jesus Christ criticized men (society back then mostly revolved around men) who made a big display of praying in the temple. Christ said to do things low-key, just between you and God.
  • Question
I feel lost and lack faith to pray or connect with God. What should I do?
    CageyCat
    Top Answerer
We all go through periods that seem to push us away from God. Relax and know that God is not lost. God has not lost faith in you, His child. Give yourself time to come back to God after you've worked through the things causing you to lose faith. If it helps, talk to your faith adviser for guidance and read widely about faith, values and prayer.
  • Question
How can someone live a life of humility so that he can be exalted by God or what are the things one should do to be humble?
    Community Answer
You don't get exalted for merely leading your life of humility. All those who were known to be exalted in the Bible were exalted for holding on to faith in the face of extreme fear and terror. Being steadfast and wanting to follow God even when it is not easy because of temptations or evil entities around, gets you touched by God. To be humble, you face your life situations, be happy and prosperous yet be down to earth, praise God and devote it all to God instead of your own sense and ideas.
  • Question
Is it okay to serve God even if I have a relationship or does it need to give up my relationship and only serve God in my whole life, because sometimes I feel guilty?
    Community Answer
God is okay with your partner who helps you from physical sin. They can be a good influence on you or you on them to be spiritual. Giving up love or friendship to serve the God that is Love is unlikely to be right. Guilt can be removed with acts that you do in the right direction like making time to meditate, help others, talk patiently, choose godly ways over lust, greed, envy, anger, etc. because God is watching you.
  • Question
How do I spread the gospel without being ashamed?
    Community Answer
Get over this shame by doing it anyway. This is called facing your fears. To talk about God, know your points well so you have answers and details to share. Be affectionate and forgiving so you don't immediately see others as lesser than you. Be like God.
  • Question
Does it show that I am serving God by giving people something small that they need to survive even though they're poor?
    Community Answer
Yes. What is small for you may be big for the receivers. Continue your good work and know that you must be humble and see it as God's will to be given. If what you are doing is too small against which you can easily do more but deny it, try to see what stops you from being more resourceful for others when it is not a huge sacrifice for you. He will guide you if you ask earnestly and let Him answer in His time.
