  • Question
If I’m nervous, how do I calm myself down to actually skate?
    Lesley Ochiora
    Community Answer
Falling is a part of the process of learning sometimes. You only need 2 things, the courage to get back up when you fall, and good safety gear when you fall.
  • Question
How do you balance yourself on the roller skates (quads)?
    Iforgotmyoldpass
    Community Answer
Keep your knees slightly bent and always lean slightly forward (falling backwards will hurt way more.)
  • Question
Will the brakes of roller skates eventually wear off?
    Iforgotmyoldpass
    Community Answer
Yes, but it will take a very long time. It also depends on what material it’s made out of, with inline skates the brake is a hard piece of plastic whereas with quad skates the brake is rubber.
  • Question
I skate outside and use quads. When I try to do a t-stop, my foot behind me starts skidding and bouncing a little, so I fall/not stop. How do I smoothly do a t-stop?

    Community Answer
With quads, you don’t want to fully drag it but slightly drag it so that you come to a gradual stop.
  • Question
    Is roller skating hard?
    Seth Stosberg
    Community Answer
Yes, it is at first, it is not like you can learn it overnight, it will take time, patience, effort and most likely some ice packs. But as you keep learning, it gets easier. You are going to have to give it a lot of effort, as you learn.
