What do I do if my thighs are bigger than my hips?

If you're making a loose skirt or dress, no extra measurement is needed. However, if you are making a tight fitting skirt/dress, measure around the widest part of your thighs while standing with your feet around 6 in apart. If you are making pants then measure around a single thigh at the widest point, adding an inch or more for seam and fit. Remember, you can always take clothes in so its better to use a bit more fabric than too little!
