I sent a MoneyGram to Nigeria today and have been informed by the recipient that the transaction is "unavailable," but the money went out fine on my end. What could the problem be?

You got scammed. Sorry. Nigeria is a nation know for scammers. They often offer you a share in a larger sum of money if you send them a little money "for now" until things "clear" or pretend to date or be in love with you so you will send them money to get out of the country to "come see you," or claim they are serving in the military and need your help, etc. The BEST thing you can do at this point is to contact MoneyGram with you reference number or phone number you purchased it with and ask them to track it and see if it has been cashed. If by some miracle it hasn't, tell them your story and get a refund!
