In order to have healthy hair, you should refrain from washing your hair every day and avoid heat when styling as much as possible. Be sure to use the proper shampoo and conditioners for your hair, which will depend on whether your hair is dyed or natural. When shopping for products, avoid products containing parabens and sulfates. These can break down and dry out your hair. You can also use hair oils like argan oil to help add some shine to your hair.

  • Question
What hair style can we do for dry hair for school?

You can try doing a simple ponytail, loose plaits or braids. Be careful to not do them too tight, keep them loose.
  • Question
How do I repair hair that is dry and falling out with a shampoo?
    Community Answer
Use a hair mask to hydrate your hair, along with certain oils you can massage into your scalp to hydrate it. If your hair is falling out when you shampoo your hair, I suggest you try a shampoo that is supposed to moisturise your scalp. Try to massage gently. Keep in mind, however, that a small amount of hair fallout is normal.
  • Question
    What causes dry frizzy hair?
    Community Answer
Your hair could naturally be dry and frizzy. But breakage or lack of moisture can also make it appear frizzy. If you aren't conditioning your hair or shampooing it too much, you could be stripping your hair of moisture. Remember to condition, use hair masks, and add argan or coconut oils to your hair if necessary.
  • Question
I have been sleeping with coconut oil in my hair overnight for a few nights at a time, use Aussie conditioner and never use heat on my hair. It is still really dry and puffy, what can I do?
    Community Answer
Leaving oil in hair for a long time attracts dust and might not benefit your hair that much. Also, try hot oil treatments once in a while (wrapping your hair in a hot towel after oiling). Apart from this, if you're not averse to the smell, apply curd for 30-45 mins (it works even better when mixed with soaked and mashed fenugreek seeds). While doing any of these, don't forget to cover your hair so as to not let the curd dry or it might make your hair brittle.
  • Question
My hair is very dry, hard, short, curly and rough. When I comb it, I get a headache. What can I do?
    Community Answer
You can use coconut oil. Leave it overnight, and when you shampoo it, your hair will be shiny and soft. Don't wash your hair every day, as this can strip it of natural oils.

Dove Dry Oil Shampoo three times a week of one application, conditioner, and Dove Hair Care Oil. You can also add one or two drops of Johnson Baby Oil to dry hair, it will look and feel soft and shiny.

What is a conditioner and shampoo to use for dry hair?
    Community Answer
Try to use natural, sulfate-free products. There are a lot of great high-end hair care brands, if you can afford them - they really make a difference. Alterna is a great brand, and its Replenishing Moisture shampoo/conditioner are especially good for dry hair.
  • Question
How do I stop my hair from getting dry quickly after a bath?
    Community Answer
When your hair is still damp, rub a few drops of oil over the length of your hair and some more on the tips. Your hair will quickly absorb the oil and should not feel oily afterward. Use pure, unprocessed, chemical-free oils. Best oils to use would be argan, coconut, or olive oil.
  • Question
How can I get healthy hair after I damaged it by dyeing it?

If you are a guy go for a buzz cut, it helps your hair cycle to rejuvenate, and you won't lose your locks. If you are a girl, consider a deep conditioning treatment and let the color fade and grow out.
  • Question
I swim in chlorine water every night, and have to shampoo my hair each night. My hair is now dry and dying. Condidioner makes my hair greasy. How can I make my hair healthy and lush?
    Community Answer
Try and swim on alternative days. If not possible, try a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. Wear caps as often as possible. The next morning, put a very small amount of coconut oil in your hair and lather it all over. You could also try a mask of mayo (mayo contains eggs and oil, both which will strengthen your hair); leave it on for 20 - 30 minutes and then rinse it off.
  • Question
If I keep doing this method, how many weeks will it take for my hair to get better?
    Community Answer
It depends on how damaged your hair is and what oils, products, etc. you use. If your hair is super damaged, it might take months to restore it back to a healthy state.
  • Question
What can I do if I did a hot oil treatment several days ago and left it on my hair for an hour, but my hair is still dry?
    Community Answer
Oils are not created equally. Coconut and jojoba oils penetrate into the deepest layers of each hair strand when left in long enough. I've read as long as 18 hours for full penetration. The amount of shampooing it takes to remove the oil may make it appear counterproductive, so try a silicone-free deep treating hair mask or one of the DIY hair masks. See if that makes a difference. Use one you apply to clean shampood hair and then rinse out (without shampoo), then apply a good leave in or detangler that has continual moisturizing properties for best results.

  • Question
My hair had been straightened regularly, and now it's damaged. I want my wavy hair back. What can I do?
    Community Answer
Do sort of a "hair rehab." To, start, stop using heat. Heat is going to kill your wave pattern. Start washing your hair with a natural shampoo, as they are generally more gentle and better overall for your hair. Each week, use a deep conditioner and really focus it on the ends. When you get out of the shower, put a light oil (I prefer argan oil) on the ends of your hair. I prefer showering at night so I can let my hair air dry a bit, then braid it (French/Dutch braids work best) and got to bed. I would leave the braids in for a day or two, then take them out and you should have lovely wavy hair!
