If the media you are trying to upload is free for anyone to use (most likely if it's your own work), you can go to Wikimedia Commons at commons.wikimedia.org. If you must upload to the Latin Wikipedia, the URL is la.wikipedia.org.

  • Question
How do you upload a file from the Internet onto Wikipedia without being sent a notice about it being possibly copyrighted or up for speedy deletion?
    David Thomsen
    Community Answer
Wikipedia strongly respects copyright and trademark laws, and you should, too. Your photographs taken yourself are most of the images on Wikipedia and on Wikimedia Commons. There is a procedure to use copyrighted material with permission from the copyright owner, but it is a bit difficult and complicated. See OTRS for details.
  • Question
How do I find the author of a photo?

You can try searching by image on Google Images, and track down the website from the image. There's a good chance if you don't know where it came from, it will be copyrighted. It's better to use something which has only public domain or creative commons images to find your photos.
