If the handle is of a standard two-handed sword size, then you have to stay as close as possible, but out of the opponent's strike range. Wait for the opponent to attack and then block it (or dodge, jump, anything you can do to defend against the attack). Then go for either the thigh or torso for your own attack. The opponent will either defend it or he will get hit. From there, go for quick, appropriate attack strings, and you will have either disarmed, knocked down, or stunned your opponent, making you the winner.

A long sword is better than dual wield swords, as a long sword blocks and attacks with a great amount of force, making it hard for dual wielders to parry. It depends on experience: a highly experienced sword fighter would probably do better with a long sword, but novices would be better with dual wielding.
