  • Question
I need to use NBTexplorer on my server but it's not on the saves list. How do I add it?
    Community Answer
I'll assume that you saved your server somewhere else on your PC. If it's somewhere practical, like your desktop or documents, then it won't be too hard to find. Open NBTexplorer and in the top left, below "File," there should be two folder icons, one with a page in it and an empty one. Click the empty one. From there you can navigate through your computer to wherever you saved your server files.
  • Question
Can I use the NBTexplorer to edit Minecraft saves with the Windows 10 version of Minecraft?
    Community Answer
No. You can only edit Java-edition worlds.
  • Question
How do I get modded items like spawn eggs, lucky blocks, etc?
    Community Answer
You'll need to mod your Minecraft. There are hundreds of mods and tutorials in the internet, but stay away from some as they aren't very trustworthy.
  • Question
Can I search through the information of a Realm? Is Realm info saved locally? (Searching for lost horse under entity stuff, but the horse is on a Realm)
    Community Answer
While I don't know for sure about Realms in particular, it doesn't make sense that it would be saved locally, unless you are the host of the Realm (if I'm right, Minecraft hosts that, not you). Otherwise said data could be edited by any player. Unfortunately, there's a 99.9% chance you won't be able to use this program to find your horse.
  • Question
What do I do if my saves folder is empty in NBTexplorer?
    Community Answer
Then you probably don't have any worlds. The default path that NBTexplorer uses is appdata/roaming/.minecraft/saves.
  • Question
What do I do if my NBT editor doesn't show the level.dat files?
    Community Answer
Maybe you haven’t looked properly or your world is corrupted. If it doesn’t show, just create a new world (if you want your builds back, try and copy and replace the ‘region’ file in \saves\.
  • Question
There is no launcher. What do I use to actually launch it?
    Community Answer
NBTexplorer is a standalone program. Launch it using the .exe when you download it.
  • Question
Can I edit servers with NBTExplorer?
    Community Answer
Yes you can (that is if it is yours). Your sever is basically a world but it has cool builds and lots of players.
  • Question
Can I edit a world so I can move it to another account?
    Community Answer
You can edit it, but you need a copy of that file to paste in the "saves" directory on your new account.
