Turn off the power and remove the water tank. Empty the tank and rinse it with hot tap water. Clear any debris from the lint trap and replace the tank. Remove the flow indicator filter and rinse it, as well as the cap and rotor. Remove any loose hair or lint from the brush roll. To clean the outside of the machine, wipe it down with a soft cloth.

Re-seat the solution/recovery tank. Make sure on models with the little tiny dispenser (in addition to the tank/recovery bucket) that you have that filled. If this is not the issue, check to ensure there's not blockage in the path of the cleaner's spray. Finally, check to ensure that the sprayer power belt isn't broken or unseated.

When I fill up the formula tank, it comes right out of the bottom of the machine. How do I fix this?

It sounds like a plug or piece of the cleaner might be missing or loose. Inspect the opening where the liquid enters the Bissell. Is there a red plug in place? If not, you may need to get a replacement piece to prevent the liquid from pouring out.

First, check to make sure that the dirty-water reservoir isn't full. Sometimes if it is or is close to the full-line, it won't suck up water anymore. If that isn't the problem, it's possible something is keeping the bristles from rotating fully. Check them out to see if something is stuck.

Check that the water tank and formula tank are both securely latched in place. Also, check to make sure you are attempting to release the cleaning solution when the cleaner is on and in a reclined position. If it's in an upright position, it won't release any liquid.
