    Expert Answer
I recommend adding ½ a cup of baking soda at the beginning of the wash and ½ a cup of white vinegar during the rinse cycle to get clean, deodorized garments.
  • Question
Can I wash hoodie in washing machine?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
Absolutely! But first, check the tag to make sure your hoodie is safe to wash in a washing machine. Most hoodies are, but it's best to be sure. Turn the hoodie inside out and zip any zippers so they don't snag on other clothing items. Use cold water and standard detergent and run the hoodie through a standard wash cycle so it doesn't shrink. When your hoodie is done, lay it out on a clean towel to help it air-dry to avoid shrinkage.
  • Question
How often should you wash a hoodie?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
If your hoodie gets dirty or stained, give it a good wash. As a general rule, you should wash your hoodie every 6-7 wears. Because a hoodie is outerwear, and isn't usually in direct contact with your skin, they don't get dirty or smelly as quick. However, if you feel like your hoodie needs to be washed, by all means, wash it!
  • Question
Should you wash hoodies inside out?
    Drew Hawkins1
    Community Answer
Turning your hoodie inside out cleans both the inside of the material and won't damage the finish on the outside of the hoodie. So, if you have a logo or graphic on your hoodie, turning it inside out can help prevent damage. Zip your zippers up to keep them from snagging on the fabric of the hoodie or any other clothing items in the wash. Be sure to pull the hood and the sleeves out of the garment as well so they can get cleaned, too.
