Why is the date in French shown as the day/month format instead of the month/day format used in English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese language when writing the date?

Actually, it is North American English that favours the way you're explaining. British and Australian English follows the French format too. In French, we think it is logical to start with the smallest measurement of time and increase to the largest measurement. Therefore, Day, Month, Year. Why do Americans and Canadians write it month, day, year? Did it start for accounting purposes?
