In my opinion, if you're going to use peanut butter, just use peanut oil instead. The oil is a lot easier to clean off things and it'll work just as well as peanut butter.
If the plastic is heat-resistant, just run a heat gun over the sticker for 1-2 minutes. Then. pry it up with your finger and wipe the residue off.
