Life Outside wikiHow
Hi there! I'm currently a student taking the IBDP. Being a student, I won't be on wikiHow often. Do feel free to post a message, it's just that I might not be able to get back immediately.
Subjects I'm Taking
In the IBDP, one gets to choose six subjects to study from - three at a higher level (HL) and three at a standard level (SL). I chose to take Mathematics HL, Physics HL, English A Language & Literature HL, Chinese SL, Economics SL, and Music SL.
I might have opted for Further Mathematics or Computer Science but unfortunately (fortunately!) they weren't offered in my school. Choosing one of those would also mean replacing Music or Physics, something which I'm reluctant to do. Naturally, I'm hoping that I could bounce some of the knowledge I gain at school into wikiHow.
Besides School
- Programming. Fun, fun stuff. I kicked off my programming side by taking KhanAcademy's hour of code. Since then, I've taught myself C++, Python, and Bash from online tutorials. I've used my new found skills to help my school develop an embedded system. Currently, I'm learning Haskell (more fun stuff!) and I'm liking it. I'm also making some games. Look forward to seeing them up here. :-)
- Reading. Just sticking a nose in a book suffices to forget any bad memories I may have. Currently I'm reading Bernard Cornwell's *the Grail Quest* series. It's fairly action packed.
- Minesweeper. Also (for me, at least) a decent way to take my mind off my troubles. (I haven't played minesweeper for 2 years now but I shall never forget those moments of seeing a smiley face...)
