Voltorb Flip is a minigame in the new Pokémon versions, HeartGold and SoulSilver. While it is a game of chance, there are a few things you can do to significantly increase the chances of winning.

  1. [1]
  2. First, in any line with a value of zero, mark all cards as Voltorb. Second, in any row or column where the line value and the number of Voltorb add up to five, mark every card in that line with a 1. These cards are not worth flipping over because they are either 1 (which will not help you) or a Voltorb. [2]

      Tips

      • If you are absolutely positive that a card is a Voltorb, mark it with the circle marking. This will help you determine whether other cards are safe to flip over or not. [3]
      • Keep a close eye on the value of cards you are flipping over in relation to the line value and the number of Voltorb in that line. For example, if you have just flipped over a 3 card in a row where the line value is 6 and the number of Voltorb is 1, then all other cards in that row are either 1 or Voltorb, so you can go ahead and mark those with the 1 marking. Doing this as you go will allow you to narrow down possible choices very quickly. [4]
      • At first, try to pick cards in lines where the number of Voltorb is low.

      Warnings

      • Make sure to keep on checking and labeling with the 1 marking as you go. Otherwise you won't have an accurate idea of where the Voltorb are, and could end up flipping some over by accident! [5]
