Dear Ms. Smith,
I am writing regarding a children’s book I am currently working on. It will be called Logan’s Spaghetti Adventure and center around a little girl who helps her mom cook spaghetti. While her mom is on the phone, Logan tries to start the spaghetti alone and makes a huge mess, can’t find many ingredients she needs, and has trouble measuring out all the ingredients. At the end of the book, her mom helps her and together they make a delicious meal. The moral of the story is that when you work together as a team you can do things easier and more successfully than you can alone. It also carries a message about the merits of being a good listener and following directions.
I am inquiring about writer guidelines when it comes to writing a children’s book of this sort. This book will be targeted toward children aged 3 to 6 years and will feature full-color pictures along with the text. Ideally, it would come in both a paperback and a board book version.
Please send me any writing requirements that Children’s House Publishing has when it comes to children’s books. I would like to follow all writing guidelines stringently, so I would appreciate you forwarding them to me at your earliest convenience.
Thank you very much for your help.
Sincerely,
Jane Doe
