Dear Mr. Baker:
I am writing to express my interest in the Assistant Chef position posted on Le Gigot’s website. I am a qualified chef from Dallas, TX with a background in desserts and pastries. I recently relocated to New York City, and am eager to bring my talents to the restaurant community here.
For five years prior to this application, I worked as a chef at Bolete, one of Dallas’ two star Michelin restaurants. During that period, I was responsible for the efficient running of the kitchen, and was directly in charge of the overall preparation of all the food served in the restaurant. My expertise lies in both French and Italian cuisines though I am always exploring new techniques and flavors.
I have experience organizing kitchen flow as well as negotiating with sales representatives on pricing ingredients and supplies. I would be an excellent assistant both in and out of the kitchen as I am organized, consistent, and constantly seeking improvement.
I seek this position to further my experience with the goal of career growth and development in New York City. I believe that I have the skill, creativity, and passion for food preparation needed meet and exceed expectations.
