I got a great email from the amazing @Gaurangprasad on the status of Hindi wikiHow. It was so fun to read that I wanted to share it here: ---- "<quote>It has been exactly one year since the Hindi wikiHow project has started. The development version was ready in June 2012, and the public launch was in the end of 2012. Since the public launch, Hindi wikiHow has grown at a pace which, according to me, is good for a “brand new wiki”. When the site was launched to the public, we had about 48 articles. We now have 85 articles (Shinako, an English wikiHow contributor, is writing the 86th article now). We may not have a million readers, but within a few months, we’ve found dedicated contributors who’ve worked to improve the site. Here are the names of few:

  1. Diwakarmani - Wrote new articles, edited and improve many articles.
  2. Anunad Singh - Improved many articles
  3. Ramaniswarna - Translated her English articles into Hindi
  4. PeaceLoveRoses (formerly: RozeLovesPooja) - Dedicated contributor
  5. Shinako - She has been showing interest in editing Hindi wikiHow

The new user’s log shows that people continue to create accounts in Hindi wikiHow.

We all know that Hindi wikiHow is going to take years to develop just like English did. But it’s great to see it is on the right track. Congrats to the team at Hindi wikiHow!
