I have two new ideas. 1- Only NABers should be able to mark new pages as patrolled. As they are the only ones who can give rising stars, and they know more then most other people when it comes to merging and deleting and things like that. 2-You shouldn’t be able to add images if the article CANNOT be fixed. If the article is something like {{Nfd|inc}} Then I understand. But articles like jokes shouldn’t be added to as it will most likely get dleleted anyway.
Hm… That’s a neat idea Grahamster. However, I can see two issues: 1: the time it would take to program the new articles to NABbers only and 2: the fact that NAB tends to get backlogged. Would we want to wait two weeks to have a new article looked at? What if it’s really bad, and needs to be speedied? IT would be a pity to leave it, just because we don’t want the average joe/jill user patrolling it first. Re pictures… I wonder if there is any easy way to exclude any NFD tagged articles from the image selecting tool?
Tweaking idea - is it possible to exclude NFD tagged articles from the image selecting tool and
categorizing app?
Yeah, @Maluniu
that’s a good idea!
Well, I think an image could help to save an NFD Article in some situations.
I like the idea of excluding photos from the Auto Image Adder that are up for NFD. I’d also like it if you would be notified of the tags on an article when using the Auto Image Adder, for example, if an article is a copyvio or a merge candidate you may not want to add photos to those either As for the first idea, I think NAB and RC Patrol are two totally different things even when it comes to new articles. I think that new articles should still go through RC patrol and there are things non-NABers can do to help with them, like NFDs, adding speedy tags and posting speedied articles to the ANB and fixing typos so that once the article is being booster there’s less work for the booster to do. Just my two cents…
1 - I agree with you in theory, but I’m worried we would get overwhelmed with the amount, and it’s helpful to have more people adding tags. 2 - Yes, I definitely agree with you here.
If I’m understanding Grahamster’s idea correctly, the image adding would only be blocked for articles that were, for all intents and purposes, “unsaveable” (such as obvious jokes, advertisements, things like that).
