Hi all, just wanted to bring something up to everyone. http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Editcountitis Not gonna point fingers, but lately we’ve seen some forum threads about how people have made X edits, or X patrols. It’s perfectly alright to be excited that you’ve been prolific enough to make a large number of contributions to wikiHow. It’s important to remember, though, that all users, regardless of edit count, do highly valued work here on wikiHow (well, maybe except for “The Vandal Man”) and that edit count is often misleading, as it counts minor and major edits equally. “A user’s edit count does not reflect on the value of their contributions…” -Mike (not my quote, just signing off my post)

*stereotype Sony and Bose are “stereo types”.

Couldn’t have said it better.“It’s about quality, not quantity”.

Mhm!

I’m listening…

It’s nothing against anybody, it’s just to let people know that overall, editcounts don’t reflect on the quality, meaning “Oh, look! This person only has 500 edits. They must be new, or not very good”. That’s almost like a stereo type.

lol

It’s fine to be excited over your edit count being high. It’s also a great way to set goals for yourself by saying, “Oh, I want to get to X edits,” Setting goals is good, and being excited are good, but bragging and judging are not. (Well, maybe you can judge NFD articles)

BOOO!!!
