Hey guys! OK, since I’m active on wikiHow the most, on the weekdays, I’m wanting to test something. I’m doing a little schedual starting today, ending Friday. Tueday: *Patroll 200 edits Wendsay: *Categorize 30 articles Thrusday: *Add 50 images Friday: *Edit 20 acting articles Each day, I’m going to try to do each of these, and then some. Remember, I know “Quality is better than Quantity” on this site, so, I defenitly won’t push. The patrol number (Sometimes, I did three hundred a day, I don’t think that’ll happen again!) was what I did, a while ago, so, I know to take my time, and look over each edit carefully. Warning: If anybody else does this, remember to keep an open mind, to stop, whenever you need to, ask someone for help, and remember not to speed on anything, slow and steady! Keep up with me here!:slight_smile:June Days

That’s cool. I actually had an idea one time where you an admininstrator could set a wikiGoal for you each week. A wikiGoal would be when an admin gave you a goal to complete and if you passed, where it says ‘You have X contributions’ It would say below it ‘This user has completed X wikiGoals’. When you complete each wikiGoal, the next one gets a little harder or tells you a new activity to try like adding images. Here is an example: wikiGoal: Edit 5 articles wikiGoal: Try adding an image to an article wkiGoal: Edit 10 articles wikiGoal: Try categorizing wikiGoal: Write an article wikiGoal: Answer a request …and so on.

This only encourages editcountitis. Focus more on quality than quantity, which is something everyone should do. Getting a certain number of this or that done, encourages rushing and not putting the effort into whatever task that’s needed.

Maybe you should replace the numbers with getting a thumbed up or saving an article from deletion. And, I don’t think they should be timed you should have all the time you need. Her idea is off to a good start, but needs some help. So please, instead of being a critique please help the idea improve.

Um, thanks for support, but I’m just doing this, you guys can elaborate if you want.:slight_smile:June Days

To June Days: Good luck! To Bokehmon: No, it doesn’t encourage editcountitis. June Days said herself that she will strive for quality over quantity. I’m confident there will be no rushing. To Pr4nk!3: I don’t think her goals should be replaced with things she has no control of. What if someone ignores the idea of giving her a thumbs up? Why leave goal-setting to people who have little to do with it? I like the plan the way it is. The goals are challenging, sure, but they are also attainable and realistic.

Thanks ISMKW, and yes, I’m almost at 200, and I’ve carefully looked over EVERY ARTICLE I PATROLLED.:slight_smile:June Days

Hi June Days, this is BlueRox8566, thanks for showing me where the wikihow forums are!

Yep, and I was here to say, I HAVE PATROLLED MY 200 EDITS! No more, no less!(I might do some more, but I’m shot!:slight_smile:June Days

OK, on to tomorrow! Wish me luck, I’ll need it, to keep my sanity. June Days

Again, good luck!

Today, categorizing my 30 articles, but there are only 120! Hope I find enough, that I know about! June Days

I think I was crazy when I was wanting to edit 20 acting articles, and on my short day (Friday.), so, I’m going to switch it up, just a little, and…I’m going to edit the articles tomorrow, but 5 or ten, then add images, on Friday.:slight_smile:June Days

^ Second-guess yourself as little as possible. Remember that you are capable of both setting goals and making good edits with the goals in mind. You can do it!

Thanks! I’m going to try to do the twenty articles today (That are the best edit I can make them, without rushing.), but if I fall short, I’ll pick it up again tomorrow!:slight_smile:I have made two edits to acting articles today and one, on one ofmy articles, so, three so far! June Days

I’ll do it too.

OK, just make sure not to rush, remember, quality is better than quantity, so it’s OK if you don’t hit your mark!:wink:Good luck! June Days

Thanks! Since I’m newer start smaller.

Yeah, andif you need any help, just ask! I love to help, and there’s a whole community who loves/wants to help too!:wink:June Days

I’ve only done five!!! I’ll try to get on the weekend (I’ll try.), and maybe edit them, I’m just…*Sigh* Adding images tomorrow!:slight_smile:June Days
