Currently the “Articles Started” box (See the screenshot) displays 5 latest articles authored by us. (unless a visitor goes ahead and clicks the “view more” button)
Wouldn’t it be awesome if we had the option to choose which of our articles should be displayed on our Userpage by default. i.e. you can select 5 articles of your choice to be placed under the “Articles Started” section. What do you guys think?
Hmm. I suppose that does have potential to be useful if someone wanted to re-organize.

Not really crazy about this one… Once you write an article, it is permanently attributed to you. I see no reason for changing the “articles started” box. (Besides a certain community controversy…)

Um… you CAN do this. You just have to do it manually instead of using the Profile boxes. I’ve done it on a separate page with a link from my user page, but there’s no reason why you should not be able to edit your user page and add any links you wish to it. My separate page (for reference) http://www.wikihow.com/User:Loiswade42/Articles
My user page (see how I linked it) http://www.wikihow.com/User:Loiswade42
If you open my user page for editing, you’ll see that ONLY two lines are there… links to awards and articles … both kept separately. (Please don’t change anything while you’re in there.) I theoretically could copy/paste the contents of my Article page and award page onto my user page… or even into my profile information if I wished. It is just a matter of personal preference, how you wish to have your page appear. Ping my talk page if you’ve got questions? I’d be glad to talk you though the process of manually editing your userpage if you like. Also: You can look back in my userpage history to see a version from before the new profile boxes came out. December 2010 is a decent one to look at. Scroll down past the profile boxes (they’re automatically put in now). I had a somewhat elaborate userpage for a while there… with lots of links and info. You may find it helpful to open the previous version for editing so you can see how the wikimarkup was written and displayed. (again, please don’t change it… just open it to look.) Later: Another tip is to click the “edit Profile” link… top right of your userpage… and UNCLICK the “show my articles and article stats” boxes. THEN do your own editing, putting in your own list. Easy peasy. Again… ping me if you want help.

Yup, what @LoisWade42
said! That’s actually what I do. I hide that box, and make my own selected list: http://www.wikihow.com/User:Krystle#Articles_I.27ve_Started
I only have 5 articles, so it doesn’t really matrer to me.
@Loiswade42
Thanks for the long reply
I was looking for a way to reduce the manual labor involved in creating the article list, such as the one you pointed
. But I will check them out.
No worries, I shall leave them untouched
