The Administrator Elections are coming up on September 15th!!! I’m sooo exited! Who wants to be an admin? Say if you want to be an admin and why you think you would make a good admin!

Usually Krystle posts about this.:wink:Wanna move it to General Chat? It’s not really an announcement.:wink:June Days

Sorry for posting this 3 times guys! It said page not found after so I didn’t know that I did this!

To clarify, if you want to become an admin, you do not need to state your intentions here, and doing so will not necessarily help you become an admin (hint: it might even hurt your chances). This is not an official admin elections thread, just a person wanting to discuss adminship. Moving to General Chat.

There are numerous requisites for becoming a wikiHow administrator - so many, in fact, that even I do not fulfill each and every criterion yet. Here are the ones that I know: - Understand what being a wikiHow adminstrator means. It is not a trophy, not something to brag about, and hardly even a privilege. It’s an extra set of responsibilities and tools to make wikiHow a better website. - You have to make connections. Know who the active administrators are - they must see you as a user prepared for the responsibility of adminship. It helps to know a lot of constructive wikiHow editors. - You have to know this site. Understand the policies, figure out how each of the non-admin tools work, and study up on the tools admins get. - If you are not nominated by an admin during the elections, you’ll require quite a bit of wikiHow experience and over 1,000 mainspace edits (user, talk, and discussion pages don’t count) under your belt. From a little investigation, Ge, I’d say you have a long way to go - just remember the wikiHow mission, in the meantime, and the rest will follow.

Nobody has to post anything on this page. I was just asking who wanted to be an admin. It’s has nothing to do with the nomination.

Are you an admin? If you are, will you vote for me? If you would, that would be great!!! :):):)

/me asks =P:wink:June Days

Might I recommend reading the following words:

GeGeGeLL: I really don’t want to seem rude, however, you just joined today. And, it seems your main goal is page designing. Why don’t you wait for March? Spend the time in between sharpening your skills and such.:wink:June Days

^ I was joking, but thanks anyway! =D June Days

I didn’t just join today! I have been on for 5 months!

Yeah…as an anon. Your account is technically only a day old.

Even with that. Tia didn’t get elected until, like, 7 months.:wink:June Days

It does. And we can see your editing habits very clearly, because we have a program for that.

@GeGeGeLL Good that you are excited for the admin elections. But as many suggested above, most of the things that an admin can do, can be done by non-admins too! And in case we’non-admins, wish to delete or move a page, we can simply request an admin and they’ll be more than happy to do it for us! When I joined wikiHow, I remember I had posted a message to @BR saying my aim us to become an admin. But as I gained experience by editing, I realised I was following the wrong track. I worked on quality more than quantity, and started working toward our mission. Today, after 3 months, I can say that becoming an admin is no more on my priorities list. I wish you all the best, but try getting some good edits under your belt. It might Increase your chances of being elected. Gaurang

I’d like to be one but do I need more experience?

@Nedifier This explains it all: http://www.wikihow.com/Become-a-wikiHow-Admin

Yes. You have only been here a little more than a month, with 225 contributions…And most of them are chatting. Track record - While there are no hard and fast rules, generally a contributor should have at least four months of experience and at least 500 - 1000 article namespace edits on wikiHow before being considered as a possible administrator candidate. Existing admins have a hard time evaluating candidates they have yet to observe and interact with personally. June Days
