Since there are so many bad article titles created even from time to time, I suggest that we have a template placed on implausible titles that request that the deleting admin protect the title. Its current form can be seen as a draft here .

Hopefully that saves a few clicks to go to the admin noticeboard from New Article Boost. I tend to find more clicks a hassle, and juggling dozens of open tabs messes with my workflow.

This template could also be incorporated in the {{speedy}} template.

Articles put in this category would be put in the “speedy deletion” category and a new category called “Titles to be protected” to make it easier for admins to find and protect.

I did include a couple of prefilled reasons as well (including “vandalism” → “This title appears to be a frequent target of bad content, such as spam, vandalism, or joke topics.” and “title” → “This page title is an unsuitable topic.”) as these are the two most common reasons why titles are protected.

Any thoughts on a template like this?

I don’t see a need for it. Title protection is usually up to admin discretion, and we can see the deletion log of that page when we go to delete the page anyway. If something clearly trolly has been created multiple times (I’d say about 5+ is my personal minimum) and an admin hasn’t protected it, reporting it on the ANB works just fine.

Just to add a few additional comments that @anon74718567 hasn’t already covered – I think most admin are aware that when they are deleting articles nominated for speedy deletion that they have the option to create-protect the title. If, in that admin’s judgement, they feel the title should be protected, I think they’ll go ahead and do so.

I appreciate the initiative here, but what I’m essentially saying is that simply by adding {{speedy}} to an article, an admin will already be aware that the title itself may be what’s problematic.
