Ever since Discourse forums server was released, I’ve been utilizing it’s features. BUt there’s one I really can’t stand. Vanilla was so much better with handling. Generally when you make bulleted or ordered bulleted’s lists, you’d want the list to continue making bullets for the list until you tell it to stop making them (double-entering, generally makes the bullets stop). However, Discourse doesn’t do that.
I generally like to make long lists more than just one or two entries long. However, after clicking and typing the entry into bullet 1., all that happens is it stops numbering for each consecutive number, creates a line stop space breaking the script, and it just stops numbering. While I generally watch what’s being typed and how issues can be more quickly typed in Discourse, I find this Discouraging (pun semi-intended).
Here’s a sample to show what happens. A quick note: I’ll also show without adjusting, where each bullet point is placed by Discourse, because you can later type later ordered bullets standard typing, but even then, you’ll have to continue typing, extending the amount of keystrokes used to create the remainder of the forums posts we create. (With standard bullets non-ordered, there’s no way to create additional GUI bullets of circles and whatnot using our keyboard and it takes extra time to enhance and add more lines - taking even more time)

Entering, caused it to be brought to the next line, tapped the ordered and it shows it as this - test item 2

See how it just creates numbered bullets starting at 1, after a long space? Vanilla would never have done that - but I know Vanilla had some other issues (that I could deal with.)
Apparently, it’s just the preview of the list when you create it, which fix once it’s been published. However, that breaking space has to go!

Hmm, let’s test this out.
Adding the bullets after making the list:
- List item 1
- List item 2
- List item 3
- List item 4
Bulleting before making the list:

Interesting. The second does seem to show 1s for each bullet in the list where you’re typing, but the preview has 1, 2, 3! It also adds that big space in between.
I think I prefer creating the list, then highlighting it and adding the bullets on Discourse.

So, with “adding the bullets after…”, I type it as a list - nonindented, then select the ordered/non-ordered list? This just seems backward to me. Seems this way softens the gap in between the blank spaces in between items seen from the “bulleting before…” list preview you mentioned.

Yep, just type it on different lines, then select the text and click on the bullet icon.
