So I checked out the Forgotten Article Project on wikihow and I decided to join in it. I was reading more about it and pressed a link to a forums post for keeping up with the project but the last comment hasn’t been commented in quite a while and has passed the commenting time limit. I think that the thread is pretty helpful and I want to go more deep into this project so I’m just wondering. http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/16589/the-forgotten-article-project-official-forum-thread#latest

I was in that a while ago… it kinda sunk after the leader left. But if you want to revive it, you can just ask everyone to see if they’re interested. Although I think a new thread might be more helpful rather than just bumping it…? I dunno.

This is a relatively common occurrence.

New users come in… see a need… and try to recruit help to meet that need by creating an editing project.

The problems arise when said new user feels responsible for the group and starts telling everyone in the group what to do and how to do it. Volunteers don’t take kindly to being told what to do… and the newbie is left wondering why they’re the only ones still active on the project… lose hope… and stop editing.

I’ve learned to avoid “projects” and just focus on editing tasks that I enjoy rather than getting wrapped up in the personalities and politics of a project.

I used to be in this too. After the founder left wikiHow everything began to sink and eventually did. Then again reviving it is okay if you want to ask everyone who used to be in it if they’re still interested. I’m not really sure bumping the old thread’s gonna be helpful so making a new one would be the best bet.

Like last time, I’ll be in on this. Add the link to any article that needs sorting out because it’s been forgotten to me talk page and I will do what I can. No sports or complicated technical tasks please!

Ok, thanks guys! I’ll create another one of these and I hope that more people will be willing to help.
