Ever since I found out that the wikiHow namespace has some trouble with utilizing some elements of “templates” and similar (I was told by Jayne last year), I got to thinking about developing a page that would only be used as a Sandbox, so that people can test what works and what doesn’t work in the wikiHow namespace? However, I keep stopping myself from creating this page because a) I don’t know what text I should use the base text and b) I keep fearing others would think these two namespaces would be the same and we wouldn’t need a second Sandbox…So I thought I’d turn to our forums, to ask about these same questions. The title of the page would be eventually created at https://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Sandbox .

  1. How does everyone else feel about a Sandbox on that namespace?

  2. If possible, how would you approach adding sample Sandbox text on that page? I don’t want to copy-paste the entire articlespace Sandbox text to the wikiHow:Sandbox page.

Also, I don’t know how often I’d use it, but if I would’ve had it last year, I would’ve been able to use it more often - so I know the need for a page as such is somewhat necessary to test features out that couldn’t have been tested elsewhere with the same level of certain and technical-functionality as the space where the page is being held.

I think it could be a good idea to have a version of the Sandbox in wikiHow namespace, however I agree that we’d need the content to be different from the mainspace one, just to avoid confusion. It could even just have Lorum Ipsum text for ease of creation.

If this is something that you want to work on, I think that would be fine!

Found a redirect, but rewrote the test page. Thank you. https://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=wikiHow%3ASandbox&type=revision&diff=31797383&oldid=17371283
