I was editing my profile, and I tried to use HTML to change the text colour but it doesn’t work? I can only make the text bold and italic.

Ahh this is a bit complex. On your profile, HTML doesn’t work. On the actual wiki (eg articles) HTML itself only partially works. (Some HTML commands work, others dont). Instead of HTML we use wiki markup, which is the same as what is found on Wikipedia and other large wikis. Does that make sense?

Yes it does, thanks Jack!

Can we use Javascript?

No, javascript can’t be used in wikitext. It is interpreted as regular text by the wiki engine.

can we put a video thas embedded on our wikihow user page

Yes, videos can be done. Just put {{#ev:youtube| x |320}}, replacing x with the video id. Here’s an example.

Actually, this isn’t entirely true. If you mean the profile box that sits on top of your user page, then Jack is right. However, the actual user page below it that can be edited like any other article can contain LIMITED HTML. If a wiki version of the HTML exists, then it generally won’t be parsed. For example, img and a do not work. You have to use the wiki code. However, div, table, span, etc work fine. I haven’t tried using an iframe to run a cross-script but then again, never really had a need to do it. You can check out my user page . I use HTML extensively.
