Sometimes when I used the categorizer app, a link on the top appears and says: “[No Articles to Categorize. Please Try Again Later]” But there is actually articles to categorize.

Usually this kind of discrepancy is because you’ve skipped past some articles - so, those ones remaining on the Dashboard are ones you skipped by. More will show up when more articles are added into the queue, but in the meantime I believe you can still use the more “old school” method of categorizing through: http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Uncategorizedpages

I tried doing that, but later on a note popped up and said: “Only 2 categories per article”. I put 2 categories in an article, but the same note popped up again.

What article are you talking about? Maybe there was one already on it? You can always open up the article in Advanced Editor mode and add the category manually, if there’s some glitch holding it back. But if you let me know which article, I can investigate! Thanks!
@Anna
, I’ve mentioned this to Krystle (and it’s in many forum discussions), your description here isn’t the case. I tend to steer away from using Categorizer. I don’t try to skip any. Yet, the dashboard always lists a larger amount than their really is. It always tells me this, after categorizing about 5-6 of them. But when I return to the dashboard, it comes and mentions that there are still 90+ articles to categorize (this number used to be smaller (pre-redesign) but now has been extended to a much-larger number). By the way Anna. The list of uncategorized articles ( http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Uncategorizedpages
) lists that there are 55 in the list, yet the Dashboard, within seconds apart, says the app contains 83. There’s something been going on inside the app that I have yet to figure out. At one time or other, there was a similar problem that I mentioned to Krystle, which in turn got Krystle thinking about finding out the matter with the app. It was picking up articles that weren’t showing up anywhere. If you get to talk to her (at the time I asked her to find a fix, I didn’t know about the forums) remind her about the 300 articles in Format when there were really 100 of them because of some “behind the scenes” article work that it was pulling in August-September 2011.

Fair enough, @Byankno1
- I don’t have much familiarity with http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Uncategorizedpages
, so I wasn’t aware of that particular discrepancy. Thanks for clearing it up! I chatted more to Krystle and the engineers, and I gather that there are just some differences that show up there because of how the tool processes articles in the given categories. So, skips will affect things, but even without skipping the numbers won’t add up perfectly. It’s a bummer to brains like mine who want the perfect math, hah, but it’s survivable! Just categorize when there are articles to categorize, and don’t stress when there aren’t any coming to ya
