Since the categorizer tool count never reaches zero, I decided to check  Special:UncategorizedPages and manually categorize the articles listed there.

Even though it says the list was updated recently (within the past hour), the categorized articles still remain. Note that the categorization occurred before the list last updated.

Maybe a software engineer needs to purge the list so that only uncategorized articles show?

Nevermind! The problem seems to have resolved, but not all categorized articles go to the tool.

I believe the Categorizer queue is processed on a nightly basis, so they’ll probably show up in due course. Thanks for updating us that the original issue is ok!
