I think that article, http://www.wikihow.com/Contribute-to-Wikihow-As-a-New-User-or-Beginner
is Nfd|dup from http://www.wikihow.com/Contribute-to-wikiHow
. They are the same instructions. Also, it’s wikiHow. Not Wikihow. Another thing, do we really need that thread?

Still. The two articles are the same.
I suggest a merge. What you could do, is create a subsection like. “For beginners” - So it could be one great article! =D June Days
I’m going to tag it for merging in NAB, going to fix the title too.
Ok. I lied. I fixed it up a bit, and changed the title. If you guys think it should be merged, you can tag it.
I wouldn’t. A short version is bound to leave some things out - some things I would need if I were a new user. I like reading, in any case, and I’m sure there are plenty of people who share that sentiment.
I have to agree. Merging (I think), would be the best idea.
My two cents: 1. Anyone who reads a how to contribute to wikiHow article is probably a beginner. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t need the article. That’s why I think an article or section labelled beginners is unnecessary. I agree that the articles should be merged 2. I think the article is too long actually. I see what you’re trying to do, in terms of streamlining the steps, but a lot of people just don’t spend a lot of time reading webpages. As someone website editor as part of her day job and writes articles on a daily basis, I find that shorter is better in terms of overall article length. People tend to scan online articles and if the article looks too long, sometimes they don’t bother reading it. I think it’s better to link to articles about the different functions then include the steps for everything. As a sidenote, I think documentation length is a very tricky thing. I know with Wikipedia, I’ve found all the manuals to be way too long and the in-a-nutshell summaries at the top of the page to be way too short. That being said, when I have written help pages (or any type of wiki page) for wikiHow or Wikia, I have found it incredibly helpful to see what other websites are doing and then pick and choose in terms of content/format etc.
Agreed. Although a more experienced user might want to learn how to contribute to wikiHow in other ways (ie through Boosting, deleting articles, etc.), we already have articles for how to do each of those things. Nevertheless, we can merge the article @Genius_knight
wrote and add a subsection for how to contribute to wikiHow as a more advanced contributor. My one cent
And, shouldn’t this be moved to collaboration corner?
