Hey guys I didn’t know where to put this so I put it in general chat. Today was my 13th birthday. I have been editing underage for 3 years now. I liked the site to much to wait till I turned 13 so I never revealed my age. My profile picture reveals little about me on purpose. I’m sorry, and hope I can continue editing here.

Congratulations, Grahamster. It’s good to have you with us ^ ^

We’re the same age!:slight_smile:It’s okay, you’re a great editor, so I’m sure it’s not a problem. I wish you’d gotten permission from your parents, though.

Oh and I wish you a happy birthday, too:slight_smile:

Oh, yeah, me too! Almost forgot, Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday. I really want to say though, I’m glad you were honest with us - I wish you wouldn’t have had to lie though. You could have edited for 3 years *with* parents permission not having to hide everything. If you ever run for admin in the future, keep in mind there will be a question of trust - But otherwise, you’re a good editor. Happy birthday again. (: June Days

Happy birthday! I’m an admin who joined wikiHow at age 11, so you shouldn’t be too concerned. Just for the record, though you probably already know this, the policy regarding users under age 13 is something wikiHow has our hands tied on. We don’t necessarily want to ban productive young editors. It’s a matter of U.S. law (COPPA) that we have to abide by. If you’re an underage editor and state your age, we legally have to block you from editing unless you have parental permission. The day you turn 13, these provisions no longer apply. We can not get in trouble legally for you having been on the site while you were underage because we had no idea at the time. This means that we have no reason to discipline former underage editors (i.e. don’t worry, you’re fine).
