Somehow an autoblock came out of nowhere and blocked my IP yet again? Can anyone solve this?

My guess is that you got hit by the autoblock, since that’s typically enabled when blocking an account. I’ve adjusted the block on the account I think you’re talking about so that it shouldn’t autoblock any associated IPs, but if that doesn’t work, you’ll need to email the address R2 mentioned. Hopefully that will have fixed it, though:slight_smile:

What account is autoblocking you? The block on the account I adjusted yesterday hasn’t been changed, so at this point I can’t tell why you’re getting autoblocked.

@ChocoCat1122 I can tell you with certainty I’ve disabled the autoblock on that specific block, so I don’t know why it’s blocking you again. Can you email Jayne at jayne@wikihow.com and let her know what’s going on? She might be able to get the engineers to whitelist you somehow and/or look into why the block is still hitting you.

@ChocoCat1122 , I think I know what the issue is. Try to clear your browser cookies. That should fix it.

Yep. We have “cookie blocks” @ChocoCat1122 . This occurs when a blocked user attempts to edit. The MediaWiki software sets a cookie that is loaded everytime a blocked user edits. It is then loaded on the browser forever until the cookies are cleared or until the block expires.

The other thing that could be the case is that your IP address is blocked. You should then email the blocked email address explaining you are a good-faith user on the IP editing from an an account.

So, me and my siblings share a computer… my younger sister (age 7) made an account… @Sophia_Murillo She got us blocked, so i’m using my (14 YO) younger brothers account (he likes to vandalize and be rude) got us blocked, too, so did @Imposter so, i’m not able to make MY account!!! Any ideas???

My brother made this account. I’m using his account for now. I’m supposed to make my account today, but my siblings ruined it because we have to share a computer. I have used sites similar to this, like Instructables, so I can actually write articles, but they can’t so they just chat and annoy people.

I would recommend contacting @JayneG . It’s likely that some technical measures in the backend would have to be taken to allow your account to be created, and not autoblocked. You can find her talk page here .

I checked the blocked list, @Eric blocked them… and I am not able to comment on any of my sibling’s accounts.

I understand, but some technical measures in the backend may have to be taken to make sure that your account would not be autoblocked, so I would recommend contacting @JayneG . I’ve tagged her here, so she should see this and reply here.
