I’m trying to connect my e-mail to my wiki-how account so other users can e-mail me. I get e-mails from wiki-how all the time, so I know it is working. But whenever I try to click on a link to my e-mail, it just says “You need to be logged in and have a valid e-mail in your preferences”, even though I am both logged in and have a valid email in my preferences. Can someone please help me? Contact me at my talk page please!

@Livelifenails go to http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Preferences . Scroll down till you see the “Save” button. Check the third option from last asking for “Enable e-mail from other users” check box is marked. I think in your page, it must be unmarked. So just select that option and save it, then try.

@IamSH I cant. It wont let me click it. That is not the problem. The problem is that my e-mail wont connect to my wikihow account

@Livelifenails go to http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Preferences and check whether you have written your e-mail under “User profile” section. If it’s written correctly, then scroll down to “E-mail” section and check whether “Your e-mail address was authenticated on …” is written under “Advance:”, if it’s not written, then go to e-mail account and check for an e-mail from wikiHow having a link to authenticate your e-mail address and click on that link. Let’s try this.

@Livelifenails Just wanted to follow up with this. Did you follow IamSH’s advice? Another thing you can do is to check your spam folder to make sure the confirmation email didn’t fall in there by accident. Let me know! I have another person with the same issue but I need lots of details in order to figure out what’s going on:slight_smile:

I dont know, I just went to my preferences to try what people suggested, and it was fixed!
