Hi everyone! I’ve been getting more and more interested in the Election 2012 of the USA. I just wanted to know, what is your opinion? Which Republican do you think has the greatest chance against Obama? And do you think Obama will be able to prevail and run a 2nd term? I’d love to here everyone’s opinion. Personally, me, being a Democrat, I think no matter which Republican will go against him, (I think Mitt Romney will be the representative, though) Obama will still probably win. Look, everything that happened and went wrong wasn’t Obama’s fault! Some Republicans made some huge mistakes too. I know a lot of people aren’t supporters of Obama, but he didn’t make all the mistakes this country has to face. I don’t want to offend any Republicans either. Anyway, please say your opinion! Thanks. ~Angela (Desiake)

I can guarentee this thread is going to become an argument and get closed.

Okey…yeah. I’ll just wait anyway. Love to get people’s opinions! This is such an interesting topic going on in the news.

Bieber will become president, the flag will get changed, we will be communist, we’d be less free than North Korea.

Jonathon Sharkey. Look him up on Wikipedia.

LOL. Nice one.

I’ve heard of that guy! Hmm…what a chance. Vampirism, huh?

He’ll drink the blood of America.

lol, government

We can’t abolish government… I thought that anarchism was dead already.

@TheMartian Wanna go to Somalia?

Being a casual democrat, I support the current president. I’d like to see him win the election, and anyone who has sense fill the various other positions. Obviously, I’m not much of political genius, so I can’t really go into more detail than that.

No. Not hardly. Now, back to the relevant subject matter. Let’s see what the Republicans in my state have done so far: Held a massive rally in the state capital protesting gay marriage/queers in general (despite the fact that gay marriage is already outlawed in the state). Cut the sales tax rate by a meager 1% on the backs of public school teachers. Pulled a blatant and shameful redistricting attempt. Unsuccessfully attempted to pass an anti-abortion bill. Now, do you think that any of the above helped the economy in any way? I certainly wouldn’t agree that it did… Republicans have short attention spans. They were elected by a naive populace that *hoped* for economic change. Not only have they not fulfilled this obligation made to the states that they were elected in, their buddies in Washington are causing gridlock by refusing to compromise.

I find politics boring. I know that because in 2008, we had a fake election in school and I got only 5% of what the politic teacher was saying. Politics is like finance; you don’t get what they’re saying. I think the United States will split if the politics get out of hand and get in a civil war (probably in a very long time). Think of The Democratic Republic Of The Congo. Their civil war was because of disagreement of politics. Ever read the book Empire? That explains it all.:stuck_out_tongue:

Not quite…(Cultural and political battles are not going to turn into violent conflict) Politics can be important because it is a way to express your ideas. For example, I love science (a bit too much). I am angered at the fact that Republicans keep defunding formerly government sponsored laboratories, and I dislike the fact that they oppose stem cell research. They also deny the existence of climate change, claim that fossil fuels are sustainable, and want to pass laws banning important science research on cloning. To put a cherry on top, they are trying to change school science texts to include Ken Ham’s YEC garbage (which can be conveniently marketed as Intelligent Design). If they were *just* a party of fiscal conservatives and social moderates, they might be reasonable, and I wouldn’t dislike them as much as I currently do. Unfortunately, they have become too hard right, and I cannot agree with most of their platforms.

@TheMartian wat?

THE REPUBLICANS ARE SCIENCE-DENIERS! Now do you get it? You might want to be careful. The admins seem to get frustrated whenever you say “wat” or use:expressionless:(an emoticon symbol).

@TheMartian : Yeah. About 87%.:stuck_out_tongue:

@TheMartian , how do you know about U.S. government all the way from Mars?

I live in a U.S state part-time in human disguise. I live among you all!
