On the front page all the articles look the same, how do you tell which ones are FA and which are RS?

I personally feel that there should be a clear differentiation made between rising stars and featured articles, as there was earlier. Just my opinion
I second that idea. A clearer definition of which articles are RS’s and which ones aren’t needs to be mentioned to the reader of the home page.

Yeah, they do seem camouflagedI can file this as a request. Is there any particular reason people would like to have these differentiated? I know FAs have much higher status than rising stars, but with rising stars toward the bottom of the home page, FAs still get the spotlight, so any additional input as to why we should differentiate them would be good to put into the request.

I think that knowing one from another is just something I’m curious about personally, but if there’s any kind of functional usage, maybe it’s knowing which ones I need to focus of specifically that I may want to edit differently. Knowing an RS from an FA makes me more able to see what I should take a look at and add pictures to, do major edits on, e.t.c because an RS is much more likely to be missing photos.Remember that these are things new users are going to see so they may not know what a RS or FA is. Maybe some way that links us to a page that explains would be simpler? A big part of our redesign was making it more friendly to users and I’m not sure if a special kind of lingo usage that makes new users feel intrusive is unhelpful… Make sense at all? I haven’t had my coffee this morning, so my thoughts may be a little jumbled up here…
Maybe there could be two sections on the main page? They could be named “Rising Stars” and “Featured Articles” (it’s better to put what RS and FA stand for, because anons and new contributors will also see the main page, and it’s good for them to know what these abbreviations stand for!). The rising stars could be under the “Rising Stars” section and the featured articles could be under the “Featured Articles” section, so readers can tell whether the articles are Rising Stars or featured. I even have trouble telling which articles are RS or featured myself.

! I can’t make them out!! I think your idea is good, but we can have 2 different pages. One for RS, and one for FA.
I think they should be like " Rising stars (RS)" and " Featured articles(FA)" as new contributors and anonymouses can have problem in recognising them at first.

I don’t think 2 different pages is a good idea. I think they should both be on the main page.
IMHO, it would be a better idea to have two different sections on the main page, than to have two different pages with the rising stars and featured articles.
