I was thinking about a feature on the Spell Checker where you could click a button called “Google Search” and it would search Google for the word. This would be beneficial for lesser-known words. What does everyone else think?

I think this would be helpful, since it’s easier than opening a bunch of tabs to look up words. It’ll be less time consuming with this suggestion.
That would be time-consuming to implement. One can simply use Dictionary.com
, one tab, infinite words. Or one can use a browser-plugin. IMHO, it’s pointless.

If you’re using Chrome, you can select the word, right click, and click on the search google for xyz option.

^ Same with Firefox… highlight a word, right click, and click on “Search Google for right click” or whatever. With the spellchecker itself, I have been reverting more people’s edits than I should be… and really… all it takes is to open a new window or tab to make sure the highlighted word or abbreviation is correct or should be corrected instead of going with your gut feeling (because the app highlighted a word) or correcting something that your browser auto-correct is telling you because Google Search isn’t at your fingertips.
With a few modifications in that Accelerators (searching) are available in iE in the right click menu/context menu, you’ll also be able to do it there too. Yes, Bing comes up initially, but there are additional Accelerators you can install via the web for your Internet Explorer browser that comes up for Google. IE 11 with Accellerators doesn’t work too well with the spellchecker, but with a few modifications I don’t have to do much work to achieve the answer I need almost every time.
Is there anything new spell checkers have to read before using the tool? If so, maybe it could just advise people to Google words they don’t know.
The right-click context works in Safari as well. @Elocina
, I redid the coaching template. Place {{Spellchecker}} on the talkpage and preview the message. You are welcome to further edit the template. Also, perhaps if the template were renamed to something quicker to type, such as, Scheck? *edit to fix my typo
Why Sckeck? What is that short for? LOL
lol— That is a mess. It was going to be Sck, but I thought that too obscure, so Scheck is what I intended. I will edit my earlier post. Thank you!
I guess my thought on this was just speed. I knew about the right-click Search Google feature, and I actually use it quite a bit, but I just thought that clicking a quick button would be easier that highlighting the word, right-clicking, and pressing “Search Google”. However, I guess that would be too inefficient for something that would only save a few seconds. I have another suggestion
on images, though. Could anyone give their opinions on that?
