I wanted to search up some information about the past meet ups that wikiHow has had, so I placed “meet up” in the search bar. After that, a bunch of results came from mostly the Forums Games and only showed results that highlighted the word “Up” and “Meet”. Is it possible for the search tool in the forums to be fixed so it will only show results of the actual phrase that is searched, instead of just one word from the phrase?

Try “meetup”. That will give specific results that are more in line with what you want.

I tried it and it did work, but there are still a lot of other phrases that don’t work out.

It is well known that the search function in the forums is terrible. I don’t think there is anything they can do about it, because wikiHow did not write the forum software, so they are stuck with what was provided.

Okay, I guess I’ll just work with the search bar anyway.

I was told a while ago by Anna that if you put the search in quotes, the search engine would realize what you’re actually searching for and therefore search for things that included the quoted words:  http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/16896/forums-search-tool-is-searching-for-random-results

Thanks for the tip - I tried it and it does turn out to work.
