I might be going to a cookout, but it depends.
I’m at a lake. I will be wearing red, white, and blue, and hanging out with my family.
I’ll also prepare for the traditional boat parade. My family won’t be entering, but we’ll be watching from the dock as decked-out boats travel past (and possibly fling water balloons at us). And after that, our neighbors will pick up my brother and me, because they need all the hands they can get for the water fight that follows in the middle of the lake.
Nothing…I’m not American (-: But I just wanted to state something: The British Pilgrims founded America, gave you you’re language and helped you grow. However, the British Power were becoming more greedy by the day, making all Americans pay high taxes etc. This is why the USA have their independence day. The reason why Britain doesn’t have an independence day? Because Britain gave everyone else theirs. Today, the UK & USA will celebrate this day in history and unite. So, being a British gal, I’d like to wish all you Americans a happy, joyous independence day! We are the 2 most powerful, most modern countries in the world, and no matter our differences, we will always be allies, just like we were in WWII. You guys are all my friends, no matter culture, race or nationality (-: So yeah, have a great day X
Well, there were a ton more things that also happened just to gain our independence, such as ending slavery, the Civil War, etc. The things that you described are something that I learned this year.
Oh wow. That is horrible. I am so sorry. I am glad that you moved. I wonder what happened to the Romanian guy after that.
Well, good. That guy deserved to face charges.
@MissUnicornLover
Lovely speech. Thank you.
Right now us girls are baking a pound cake for sometime today, and then we’ll be heading to town to watch the parade, visit with friends (it’s crazy how oft you see people you meet in a small town), and help some people from one of our churches get some work done (re-touching paint on the church building, fixing a lady’s porch, etc.). We’ll probably have dinner with that church as well, then free ice cream, and watching fireworks. I’m not very happy with the way America is headed, but it is nice for everyone here to unite and have a good time together.
@IsabelleZita
no problem (-: Seems like you guys are having a smashing time! And like you said, you may not like the way America is going towards, but unity brings everyone together. My friend’s birthday is actually today so we’ll be celebrating that for a bit (-:
Wishing all of my American cousins a wonderful time celebrating Independence Day - at 6pm tonight I shall be pouring my gin cocktail and saying ‘cheers’ to you all.

My dad is throwing a party for the whole neighborhood! Everyone is welcome to come and have fun! Though some Polish guys from across the street aren’t too happy about it but what can we do about that? We’ll just ignore them!
A couple of years ago, this one Romanian guy was so stubborn and so rude that he come on multiple occasions, not just 4th of July and he would insult us, be rude at us and demand that we take our flags down (which we had up on occasions and sometimes during the summer)! He was so rude about it that the police got involved, it wasn’t us who called them on it though, it was someone else who lived across the street who just got fed up of him causing trouble all across the neighborhood. Now that we have moved, we don’t get that anymore… just these unhappy Polish guys who just shrug their shoulders and stare at us… they are not a problem like the Romanian guy.

He was charged with something (I don’t quite remember the actual thing) and was released on bail… ever since then I think he has gone quiet.
