What do you all plan on eating today?

Happy awesome Thanksgiving to everyone!!! =) =)

Well, for the main menu, I’m eating a “young turkey” we bought yesterday, mashed potatoes (I’m actually going to try it with gravy!), corn in a cup with mayonnaise and spices, pumpkin and sweet potato pie, and my mom wants to try something different with the beverages: grape and banana smoothie.

Yeah, not your typical dinner, but this is our tradition! Eat well everyone!!

^ Wow! That’s cool.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. May I ask what does it stand for and how you celebrate it?

^ During the 1620’s (or whenever it was), the Pilgrims came to North America during this month, to let everyone know (or so I think) that being thankful for anything is important. As far as I know, it’s the time our very first Thanksgiving was celebrated. Since then, we’ve celebrated it today every year.

We’re actually having slightly less than usual for the dinner this year (in a smaller house with only one oven), but here’s the plan for food: Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade rolls, cranberry relish, sweet pickles, fresh carrots from the garden, turkey stuffing, cranberry salad, sweet potato casserole, pumpkin pie, apple pie, gooseberry strawberry pie, cherry pie (that I made the crust on), whipped cream, and decaf coffee and cream.

But let’s not forget the main reason for Thanksgiving: giving thanks to God and for those around you for everything you’re blessed with.

^ Vish: It’s generally celebrated with your family or with family and friends, all getting together for a very big dinner usually consisting of turkey, mashed potatoes, a lot of sides, and of course, pies and other yummy dessert. This year my family is having my grandparents over to eat and share with us.

^ Sounds pretty good.:smiley:I don’t like turkey, and we’re staying home this year for Thanksgiving, so I have no idea what I’m having.

@McDonalds Thanks for the information and this thread.:slight_smile:I hope you have whatever you like (if not a turkey) and come closer to family and loved ones.

@Colie Wow, The menu is so lavish.:smiley:Yummy. I didnt know it stood for thanking everyone, as the name suggests. Thanks for letting me know.:slight_smile:I hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your big happy family :slight_smile:Umm just curious, since you have wonderful horses, I hope they have great food too.

^ No problem. I will.

I just finished making a cheesecake!

^ Vish: Yep, they got hay and I’ll probably give them some treats:slight_smile:

^^ Awesome.

Indeed… Thats so sweet Colie. Olivia, cheesecake, how is it?

Cheesecake is awesome:smiley:

Sounds like our Christmas dinner!:stuck_out_tongue:We usually have a pasta dish, ham and turkey, potatoes (baked or scalloped), two vegetables, salad, fresh bread, and a ton of desserts! And my mom cooks it all! Luckily we have two ovens!!!

My Thanksgiving was good and I’m sitting by the fire pit. I had ham, mashed potatoes, and rolls. Very stuffing meal.

Black Friday is so tiring! Like I said, going shopping doesn’t mean I like it, I have to do it:wink:Is anyone doing their shopping?

I had cheesecake only once, it was a blueberry cheesecake. May be it was the first time I had it so it tasted too tangy for the cake to me.

It all depends on what recipe you use, so some will be tangier than others. I really, really love cheesecake, and thankfully, it tasted delicious this time!

Oh wow!
