A nice Monday morning surprise, hopefully! @Lojjik
has been working on upgrading our version of Vanilla for the forums, and it’s looking like it’s almost ready to go live. Hurrah! In order to make the transition, Lojjik and Reuben will have to “pause” the forums for a couple of hours today. In other words, they’ll either be down or in read-only mode for a while to make sure that new data isn’t coming in while they’re making a copy of it to transition us over to the new version. So if you see the forums down today, hang in there, and know it’s for a good cause
Also, spoilers on the new version: It’ll be a little different at first, of course, so it might take a little getting used to, buuuut in testing so far, it looks really neat, has some new features that make posting and commenting easier, and so far seems to run faster. So, get excited…! Three cheers to Lojjik for making this happen! Here’s a sneak peak! Fingers crossed that the upgrade and transition all goes well
Wow that’s great news! Great job, kinda needed updating anyway (-:
Exciting! Thank you Lojjik!

This is a great idea! I hope @Lojjik
has taken into account that @SarahB
is an ‘old’ person and may need coaching! Only kidding… Sarah
A fantastic and mind-blowing idea! How exciting!
Hope the transition goes well

Just wondering–is there going to be an update on the mobile version? Or just the desktop version?
Great new upgrade! It took me a little bit to get used to, but it’s better both functionally and aesthetically than the older forum.
It’s so weird!
But it looks really nice.

Sweet, glad you guys like the look so far! Lojjik and Reuben are still working out some bugs, so hang in there through any weirdness for now and hopefully we’ll end up with smooth sailing soon!
@OoT2D
The mobile version got a little design update to a more wikiHow-friendly color
Oh my god! I love this new update! There are text features too! Wait - can we still use HTML?
Does this work?
@Darkfrost
- you can use the editing toolbar for that now
Wow, loading notifications is a lot faster! @KiwiHow
, I know, but we won’t be able to use custom colors anymore. Well…I never used them that much, so I guess I won’t need them.
Is one now able to leave a comment after a forum thread is closed? It appears so…
The format fits the wikiHow website a lot better!

@Adelaide
- you can if you’re an admin
Just curious, but why was my comment deleted?
